Locations

Camp Betty will be held throughout the northern inner city suburbs of Melbourne. There will be a main infoshop which will be based at the Irene Community Arts Warehouse. Check out the program for info on when the other spaces will be used.

Note that we will ensure that all locations have gender neutral toilets.

Irene Community Arts Warehouse
Pitt St, Brunswick
This space will be open at all times and act as the infocamp/central location point for Camp Betty. You can chill out here, meet people, eat and drink. Food will be served from here.
Get there - Tram 1 or 8 from the city (Swanston St) heading north (get off corner of Glenlyon Rd & Lygon St - landmark: Shell Petrol Station - then walk north one block)
Accessibility - Doors: All the entrance doorways are approx 97cm wide when open; Downstairs (infoshop, chillout space): Rollerdoor for easy access, slight incline at drive way; Upstairs: Tthere is a 14cm landing at the very front of building entrance, and then there are 18 steps of approx 17cm ea to get upstairs; Toilets: The toilets are essentially identical upstairs and downstairs.
Both have 2 usable toilets and they are all gender-neutral. But you have to enter a room with a 74cm wide door, and then the doors to the cubicles themselves are about 66cm wide. Accessibility - Our front door is 95cm wide, and that accounts for the space the edge of the open door takes up. There’s a 5cm rise at the door. We’ve had wheelchairs here before and access to the shopfront hasn’t been a problem. Only hassle is our toilet, which isn’t accessible at all (narrow corridor, stairs, tiny room, etc). Closest accessible toilets are at the Northcote Social Club, just a few doors down and open til late. There’s also some new accessible public toilets a few doors down from NSC.
